Whitehouse ISD moves to ParentSquare for mass communication

We are excited to announce Whitehouse ISD, at recommendation from the Strategic Planning Committee, will be implementing the unified mass communications platform: Parentsquare.

As you know, Whitehouse ISD was using the Notify system (through Gabbart Communications), along with several other platforms, to communicate with staff and families. It became obvious that a more efficient system was needed, by both the District and SPC. Strategy Team 3 recommended ParentSquare. Shortly thereafter, Gabbart Communications was bought out by ParentSquare.

This platform is a more robust, user-friendly system that will engage all of our families, from each campus and department. It feeds directly from Skyward. Teacher classes are already set-up, live-language translations will be available, plus more. Some additional features include:

  • Mass Notifications and Urgent Alerts with two-way communication

  • Mobile Application for administrators and parents

  • Attendance Notifications

  • Teacher and Classroom Communication

  • Direct Messaging and Chat with Two-Way Translation

  • Social and Website Share

  • Forms and Permission Slips

  • Parent Teacher Conference Sign-Ups

  • Calendar and RSVP

  • Volunteering and Supply Sign-Up

  • StudentSquare (similar to Remind with added Security)

  • And More

Communication to Parents and Staff

Staff and families will receive an activation email for their ParentSquare account. Emails will be sent out the week of May 15th. All communication will officially move to ParentSquare beginning July 1st. A launch kit has been prepared for employees and families introducing ParentSquare. For families: Those who do not register will still receive text, email, and phone notifications. Parents who do create an account can become more actively engaged in communication by appreciating posts, viewing photos, leaving comments, and managing their communication preferences.

7th - 12th grade students: Be sure to download 'StudentSquare.' This app partners with ParentSquare - the district's new mass communications tool.

This app will allow you to communicate with teachers, coaches, and sponsors. You'll receive announcements, alerts, view google calendars, and even set up meetings with your teachers.

You'll log-in using your Whitehouse ISD student email and password.

New this year: Be sure to put your cell-phone number in during re-enrollment registration to receive text alerts. This will be especially important for Band, Athletics, FFA, and other student activity groups.
