    Out-of-District Transfer Guidelines

Families with students in grades K-12 who live outside of Whitehouse I.S.D. 's district boundaries may apply for transfer to a Whitehouse I.S.D. school. Out-of-district transfers are approved for only one academic year at a time. Transfer requests will be evaluated on current enrollment, growth expectations, teacher assignments, class sizes, and the enrolling student’s attendance and discipline history.

    Conditions of transfer

    • All out-of-district transfers must be approved by the office of Student Auxiliary Services and the receiving school principal.
    • A transfer form must be completed for each child, and approval of one child does not guarantee the approval of siblings.
    • Parents may request a particular elementary campus, but Whitehouse I.S.D will determine actual campus placement.
    • Elementary applications that are denied are denied for all Whitehouse elementary schools.
    • School bus transportation will not be provided for transfer students.
    • Approval does not guarantee eligibility for varsity athletic competition.
    • No transfer applications for the current school year will be accepted after the month of February.
    • Whitehouse I.S.D may revoke a transfer and return the student to their home campus, at any time, for:
      • Failure to maintain a passing grade in all classes
      • Excessive absences or tardies
      • Violation of the student code of conduct
      • Lack of parental cooperation

    New out-of-district transfers

    • Applications will be accepted beginning in April for the next school year.
