Painted Senior Parking!

๐Ÿ“Œ Basic Requirements

  • Eligibility: Open to WHS seniors with a valid driver’s license and current insurance.

  • Fee: $50 for a reserved parking spot (cash or check only). Only reserved spots can be painted. 

  • Paint & Supplies:Students are responsible for all materials.

    • Only water-based exterior latex paint is allowed.

    • Not allowed: Spray paint, oil-based, reflective, fluorescent, glitter, textured paints, or clear sealants.

    • Consider coordinating with friends to share materials and reduce cost.

 

 


๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step-by-Step Process

1. Purchase Your Spot

  • Begins Monday, July 7 at 8:00 AM in the WHS Front Office (Mrs. Kunkel).

  • First come, first served – only 140 spots available to paint. 

  •  For those that don't want a reserved spot, General Parking will open in August. 

  • If you cannot attend in person, a representative may claim your spot.

    • You must email Mrs. Kunkel (kunkelm@whitehouseisd.org) from your school email by July 3

    • They must bring a copy/photo of your driver’s license, insurance, and your vehicle details (make, model, license plate). They will be filling out the google form for you so they must be able to upload. 

2. Submit Your Info

  • After payment, you’ll scan a QR code to fill out a Google Form:

    • Upload license and insurance card

    • Enter vehicle info–know your license plate number, vehicle make and model 

  • Once approved, you will choose your assigned spot, receive your parking sticker and your Design Packet.

 

3. Design Packet Requirements

  • Submit your completed packet by Thursday, July 17.

    • Includes: Student/parent contract, and a sketch of your parking space (with all colors clearly labeled).

    • Email or drop off in person (Office hours: Mon–Thurs, 7:30–5:00).

    • Email to kunkelm@whitehouseisd.org

  • Designs must be school-appropriate and will be reviewed for approval.

  • Campus Administration has final approval on all designs. 

  • If revisions are needed, you’ll be notified by Tuesday, July 22.

 

 


๐ŸŽจ Design Guidelines

Your painted space is a privilege. Please follow all rules:

โœ… Allowed Themes:

  • School spirit, college logos, student name/initials, sports, clubs, positive messages, appropriate hobbies/interests.

๐Ÿšซ Not Allowed:

  • Profanity, discriminatory or offensive language/symbols

  • Negative or suggestive slogans or images

  • Political messages

  • Drug, alcohol, tobacco, or weapon references

  • Gang-related tags, graffiti, or color patterns

  • Full names (first name or initials only)

  • Copyrighted characters/logos without permission

  • Any design that could cause campus disruption, reasonably deemed offensive. 

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ Technical Rules:

  • Keep all artwork within the lines of your parking spot.

  • Leave a 6-inch unpainted border around all lines and space numbers.

  • Do not paint over curbs, lines, or space numbers.

  • Only approved designs may be painted. Campus Administration has final approval. 

  • You will be responsible for covering/painting over your spot at the end of the year. You can pay an additional fee of $10 at the end of the year to have a school sponsored club paint over. More details and dates will be provided for this step. 

 

 


๐Ÿงน Painting Days (Tentative due to sealing/re-striping of parking lot) You can only paint on supervised days and times. 


 

  • Wednesday, July 23 – 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM

  • Tuesday, July 29 – 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM

  • Thursday, July 31 – 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Students are responsible for bringing all supplies (paint, brushes, painter’s tape, towels, water, etc.). All trash must be picked up before leaving. No painting outside of approved days and times. (Must be supervised by campus staff) If dates  change we will communicate any changes to students and parents via Parent Square. 

 

 


๐Ÿšจ Violations & Consequences

  • Any unapproved designs or inappropriate artwork will be painted over by staff.

  • Students forfeit the painted spot privilege and will not receive a refund.

  • Students who damage or deface another student’s spot will face disciplinary action.

  • At the end of the school year, students are expected to repaint their space black (latex paint only). Failure to do so may affect future senior privileges or incur a cleanup fee.

  • You can pay $10 to have a school organization paint over your spot.
