Temporary closing due to COVID

Whitehouse ISD families:

Because of the high number of Whitehouse ISD employees not able to report to work due to COVID and those required to stay home to care for family members, all WISD campuses will be closed next Tuesday and Wednesday, January 18th and 19th. Monday the 17th is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and is already a holiday for WISD students and staff.

This temporary closure is required due to a lack of staffing to provide quality academic instruction and appropriate supervision for students during the school day. This does not impact extracurricular activities. All extracurricular activities will continue as scheduled throughout the temporary closure. Community activities scheduled in WISD facilities during the temporary closure will be canceled.

The WISD COVID Testing Center will remain open on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 18th and 19th for students and staff. Whitehouse ISD students and staff with symptoms are encouraged to take advantage of the COVID rapid testing center. The testing center is located at 106 Wildcat Drive and will be open from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Tuesday the 18th and Wednesday, the 19th.

Again, Whitehouse ISD is canceling school on Tuesday the 18th and Wednesday the 19th due to a lack of appropriate staffing. Please see our website for information and updates.

If your student tests positive for COVID-19 during the break/closure, please report via email to COVID-19@whitehouseisd.org prior to Thursday January 20th. Nurses will be working January 19th and 20th during the hours of 9am-2pm and will be able to answer questions per email.
